Retail theft
A 35-year-old female, of Breinigsville, was arrested for alleged retail theft at Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:46 p.m. Jan. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female was first detained by the retailer’s loss prevention personnel.
Three people, believed to be from the Reading area, are suspects in an alleged retail theft of baby formula at Giant Food stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, on several occasions between Dec. 5 and Dec. 23, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police. According to a news release, store surveillance footage shows two females and one male entering the store together. Once inside, the three suspects allegedly used coats and a baby stroller to stash Similac baby formula. The three people allegedly exit the store and leave the area in a dark color Honda Accord. Identity theft
A resident of Tuscany Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned her personal information was used to apply for a credit card after receiving an email from the card company concerning a credit application Dec. 7, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Drug possession
A 21-year-old male, of Telford, allegedly was in possession of drugs and related paraphernalia at a traffic stop near the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Interstate 78 eastbound, Lower Macungie Township, 12:20 a.m. Dec. 11, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Two juveniles allegedly were found using THC vape pens in a school bathroom at a location along Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 1, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Their smoke set off alarms which alerted faculty to their location, according to authorities.
Theft
Someone allegedly removed a package containing a truck seat cover, valued at $142, delivered to a residence along Pembrooke Drive, Lower Macungie Township, Dec. 21, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 25, 2023, at the state police station, Schantz Road, according to authorities.
PFA violation
A 26-year-old male, of Lewisburg, allegedly contacted another person by text in violation of an active protection from abuse order Dec. 23, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Accidents
An Allentown motorist escaped injury when their car overturned in a one-vehicle crash along Vera Cruz Road, Upper Milford Township, 9:52 p.m. Dec. 19, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver was southbound in the 4600 block of Vera Cruz Road when she lost control on a curve, went off the road and struck a utility pole. The collision with the pole caused the vehicle to overturn “an unknown number of times,” according to authorities. Emmaus EMS and Vera Cruz Citizens Fire Company also responded.
A vehicle allegedly struck a wooden barn in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Macungie Mountain Road and Sweetwood Drive, Upper Milford Township, 7:24 p.m. Dec. 7, 2023, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was westbound on Sweetwood Drive when the driver lost control on a left turn, went off the road and hit the barn. The vehicle left the accident scene.
