Now that we are in January and have experienced the first storm of the winter-weather season, keep an eye on changes to the school schedule. Cancellations, delays and early dismissals will be sent through Catasauqua Area School District communications and posted on social media.

The end of the second marking period will be Jan. 19.

CASD will be closed Jan. 15 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Jan. 22 for an Act 80 teacher in-service day.

Girl Scout troops are hosting an information session 6-7 p.m. Jan. 31 at Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St.

Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association is hosting an adults-only bingo and basket raffle March 2 at Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St. Doors open 11:30 a.m., and bingo begins 1 p.m.

There will be 20 games with cash prizes, special bingo games, a 50/50 raffle, a basket raffle, door prizes, concessions and a cash bar.
