The Jan. 2 Macungie Borough Council meeting had four new and returning council members.
Ronald Karboski and Carl Sell Jr. were sworn in for 4-year terms.
Todd Ritter was sworn in for his first time for a 4-year term and Robert Rozak Jr. was sworn in for a 2-year term.
Karboski was elected by council members as president and Greg Hutchison as vice president. Sell was elected president pro tempore.
There was an allocation in the budget for the Macungie Fire Department. They were given $25,000 in March 2023. The rest would be given to them when certain financial records were received which were never submitted; therefore, the additional money will not be given to them. This was approved by council.
The Teamsters contract was approved by all parties.
The zoning hearing board will hold a public meeting 7:30 p.m. Jan. 10.
There was an executive session for real estate, personnel and legal matters.
