Bill Nolan, of PA Troutfitters guide service, will be speaking at the general meeting of Hokendauqua Trout Unlimited. His topic will be fishing the Lehigh River. A question-and-answer session will follow.

This event is free and open to the public.

The meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in room 107 at Northampton Area Middle School, 1617 Laubach Ave.

Northampton Area Public Library, 1615 Laubach Ave., is having a soup and sandwich fundraiser during January. The food will be prepared by Island Expressions Catering, Northampton, which offers a wide variety of soup and sandwiches.

Each sale earns a bit of money for the library.

Orders and payment will be taken through Jan. 31 at the library, and pickup is planned for 11 a.m. Feb. 15.
