NASD’s 2024-25 kindergarten and first-grade online registration begins Jan. 12. All elementary buildings will open up registration online. Visit nasdschools.org, click Enroll Now at the right, continue to 2024-25 Kindergarten Registration link and follow the directions.

Admission to kindergarten requirements are that a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1. Admission to first grade requires a child must be 6 years old on or before Sept. 1. Note: Children currently enrolled in kindergarten in NASD do not need to be registered for first grade.

There are health requirements to register. Immunization record must show the following: four doses of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (one dose on or after the fourth birthday); four doses of polio (fourth dose on or after the fourth birthday and at least six months after previous dose given); two doses of measles, mumps and rubella, usually given as MMR; three doses of hepatitis B; and two doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity.

Physical and dental examinations are also required for entrance and may be completed up to one year prior to entrance into kindergarten. The dental and physical forms for these exams are available on the NASD website.

Other requirements to enroll include uploading the following - two proofs of current residency, which can be any of these: copy of mortgage, lease or rental agreement, utility bill, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation identification or driver’s license, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation vehicle registration, copy of state/federal program enrollment, copy of paycheck stub with name and address of employee and employer or residency affidavit; original birth certificate for child; and custody papers, if applicable.
