Jan. 12

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St., Macungie, will hold a drive-up “takeout only” free community meal 4-5:30 p.m. The meal will consist of sausage, cabbage and noodles, jello with fruit and brownies.

Jan. 13

Historic Bethlehem welcomes soup fans to Soup Saunter noon to 5 p.m. Soup samples will be available at various restaurants in Historic Bethlehem. There is a cost for tickets and the event is held rain or shine. For details, visit the website www.visithistoricbethlehem.com.

Jan. 15

Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with special events promoting kindness and including crafts, card making and a golf tournament starting 10 a.m. The event is free.

Lehigh Valley Hospital offers a free “Mindful Yoga” session 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. at the hospital’s Health & Wellness Center at Cedar Crest, 1243 S. Cedar Crest Blvd. The session incorporates mediation and movement. Registration is available through the hospital website.

Jan. 19

Lower Macungie Library, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie, will screen Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate Elvis Presley’s birthday month. The program is free. For more information and to register, visit the library website lowermaclib.org.

Out of Our Minds Art Studio and the Macungie Institute presents the program Painting with the Police 10 a.m. to noon at the institute, 510 E. Main St., Macungie.

Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will join readers for Books ‘n’ Barks at Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Readers may bring a book or select one from the library stacks. The event is open to children of all ages.

Jan. 31

Feb. 3

A winter craft fair is scheduled 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St., Macungie. The event is sponsored by K4K & Fur Mama.

Feb. 10

The Friends of the Emmaus Public Library will host a bus trip to Lancaster to see author Kristin Hannah in conversation with author Adriana Trigiani. The bus will leave from Weis Markets, 1220 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 9:30 a.m. and return by approximately 5 p.m. There is a cost for tickets which will include a smorgasbord lunch and free time at Shady Maple as well as a signed hardcover copy of Hannah’s new book “The Women,” scheduled to be released in February 2024. Space is limited and reservations must be made by Jan. 10. Reservation forms are available at the library main desk. Proceeds will benefit Emmaus Public Library.

May 11

The Seed Farm will host its annual spring plant sale at the farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road. Also May 12. The sale features a wide variety of plants, including vegetable, herb and flower plants grown at farm. All plants are grown at the farm without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
