CMS News: Souper Bowl of Caring to start Jan. 16

CMS students are taking part in the Souper Bowl of Caring food drive Jan. 16-Feb. 9. Items collected will benefit Catasauqua Community Cares Program and Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

The homeroom that brings in the most items will win a pizza party.

Congratulations to the January Roughies of the Month.

The honored students include Rory Edelheiser, fifth grade; Kaylee Brown, sixth grade; Braylon Fontanez, seventh grade; Dayton Green, eighth grade; and Luke Buffington, related arts.

Reminder: There is no school for students Jan. 15 for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The Catasauqua Middle School parent teacher forum will next meet 7 p.m. Jan. 16 in the school library.

The end of the second marking period will be Jan. 19. Report cards will be available Jan. 26 on the parent portal.

There is no school for students Jan. 22 for a teacher professional development day.

The after-school remediation program for the first semester ends Jan. 31.

CMS students can wear pajamas Jan. 23 to support Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

CMS Principal Dr. Pammer will be taking maternity leave around the start of February. Bob Steckel will step in as interim principal at this time.

Steckel currently serves on the CMS team as an instructional aide. Previously, he worked as an administrator and educator for 35 years.

Winter is here, and that means the risk for inclement weather. Any changes to the school schedule will be sent through Remind, Power Announcement and posted on social media.
