Karen M. Thompson, 79, died Dec. 27, 2023, in her Wescosville home.
She was a devoted mother to her only daughter, Debbie, grandmother to her three grandchildren, and great-grandmother to her two great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly referred to her as Granny GOAT.
Nothing made her happier than spending time with them. Nothing made her prouder than they did.
She also cherished her friendships with her remaining siblings.
She enjoyed watching professional sports on TV such as football and baseball, especially the Eagles, and loved animals.
Born Aug. 11, 1944, in Lowell, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Charles P. Unice and Kathleen Sullivan Unice.
She graduated from East Brunswick High School, East Brunswick, N.J. in 1963, and was a cashier at the Giant Food Store, Trexlertown, for 17 years before retiring.
In addition to her daughter Deborah Granada (Steckel), she is survived by son-in-law James Steckel of Allentown; sister Carol Unice (Brown) of Lakewood, N.J.; sister Charleen Unice (Whitacre) of Queensbury, N.Y.; brother Robert Unice of Springfield, N.J.; grandson Jesse Yeahl; granddaughters Katie and Abby Steckel; great-granddaughter Eloise; and great-grandson Jayce.
