Charles B. Gadwell Jr., 75, of Whitehall, died Dec. 29, 2023, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown campus.
He and his wife, Margaret A. (Caleca) Gadwell, were married 21 years.
Born May 6, 1948, in Easton, Northampton County, he was the son of the late Charles B. Gadwell Sr. and Anna (Jankowich) Gadwell.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era and later served in the U.S. Army.
He was an honorary member of the First Defenders, Allentown Chapter, and a member of Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Allentown.
He was a U.S. Postal worker for 34 years before retiring in 2008.
He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, Orefield.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Christina Ann Bobinis (Joseph) and Stephanie T. Paulus, all of Pen Argyl, and Tiffany M. Patterson (Scott) of Saylorsburg; sisters Charlotte Kocian of Allentown, and Michele Kleckner of Dayton, Tenn.; five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marcia Susslin.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Jan. 6 at Heritage Baptist Church, 3749 Route 309, Orefield, with the Rev. James E. Barr officiating.
Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
Interment with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 8, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
