Freedom divers Hayden Taylor and Cody Smith captured first-place points in the Patriots’ swimming meet against Nazareth on Dec. 19 at Freedom.
Taylor had a score of 193.00 for the girls, and Smith’s score was 185.00 for the boys.
Alivia Deemer also earned first-place points in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:14.42 in the closest race of the night when Nazareth’s Sydney Valvano came in second in 1:14.51.
Nazareth placed first in all other events, but Freedom was able to tally second and third-place points in several individual events.
In the second closest race of the night, AJ Black placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.85. Black also took second in the 50 free in 24.92.
Micah Lawser swam to a second-place finish in the 200 IM in 2:28.88 and in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.45, and Alexia Ragab was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:14.52.
Ragab placed third in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.31, Deemer was third in the 100 free in 1:01.78, Giovanni Camaione took third place in the 100 free in 1:01.44, and Kaylee Buglino was third in the 500 free in 7:00.63.
Team scores were Nazareth girls 135 - Freedom girls 54, and Nazareth boys 128 - Freedom boys 48.
