Karen M. (Unice) Thompson, 79, died Dec. 27, 2023, in her home in Wescosville. Born in Lowell, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Charles P. Unice and Kathleen Sullivan Unice.
She graduated from East Brunswick High School, East Brunswick, N.J. in 1963.
She worked at the Giant Food Store, Trexlertown, as a cashier for 17 years before retiring.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother to her three grandchildren and great-grandmother to her two great-grandchildren - all of whom lovingly referred to her as Granny GOAT. Nothing made her happier than spending time with them; nothing made her prouder than they did. She cherished her friendships with her remaining siblings.
She enjoyed watching professional sports on TV such as football and baseball, especially the Eagles. She also loved animals.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Granada (Steckel) and son-in-law, James Steckel, of Allentown; sisters, Carol Brown, of Lakewood, N.J., Charleen Whitacre, of Queensbury, N.Y.; brother, Robert Unice, of Springfield, N.J.; grandson, Jesse Yeahl; granddaughters, Katie Steckel, Abby Steckel; great-granddaughter, Eloise; great-grandson, Jayce. She was predeceased by sisters, Ceceil McArthy, Kathleen Segreti; brothers, Charles Unice, Darrell Unice.

A memorial service will be private. Condolences may be left for her daughter at steckels98@gmail.com. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
