During the Dec. 21, 2023, Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority meeting, General Manager Matt Harleman said additional invoices were reviewed and agreed upon after the board package went out.
These invoices need to be added to the register. One was from Performance Pipeline for the manhole to manhole project, which came in at number one in the amount of $8,783. The next, for the same project, from PPI, came in at number two in the amount of $142,924.
Also, regular quarterly sampling invoices have been reviewed in the amount of $895 and $8,592.
Harleman also mentioned CWSA received a quote Dec. 21, 2023, from Brown and Brown Insurance for CWSA’s 2024 policy. In 2023, the insurance company was Selective Insurance at a cost of $73,000, which, in 2024, will go to $75,000.
In a typical year, CWSA has zero claims per year. In 2023, there was one due to wind damage to the roof at a pump station, which needed to be replaced.
The quote from Brown and Brown is reportedly cheaper. However, it does not include no-fault sewer backup, which is very important to CWSA. Harleman said he recommends keeping Selective Insurance.
A motion was made to add the extra invoices, including the insurance renewal, to the agenda. This motion approved and carried.
James Hahn brought up items for board action including the 2024 final operating and capital improvement budget, the $100 donation to the Lehigh Valley chapter of the National Football Foundation and the 2024 board meeting dates. Each motion was approved and carried.
