EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My dad’s name is Sajitha and my mom is Sammy.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is anatomy because I am learning about different physiological functions of the body which is very interesting to me.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. Yes. I have won the math award for Geometry Honors, President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, a member of National Society of High School Scholars and a member of National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I have been doing karate at Kobushi Family Karate Center since kindergarten and earned my junior black belt. I’ve been in the school orchestra playing the violin since fifth grade. I am also a member of the school French Club which I joined in ninth grade. I volunteer at Camel Hump Camp in Bethlehem creating activity areas for little children including kids with special needs and other volunteering activities to help people in need. Being involved in these activities made me learn how to be a part of a team working toward a common goal and be considerate of others around me, which made my high school experience quite fulfilling.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge so far would be completing tasks on time which I have been working very hard to accomplish.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to go to college after high school to study microbiology.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. I hope to be like my mom when I grow up because she puts me first before everything else. And I want to be as kind, hardworking, smart and strong just like she is.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered as someone who is kind, considerate, hardworking and always thinking of others.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Try to make time for the good of others. It will give you the biggest happiness in life!
