Carl E. Bachman, Sr., 86, of Walnutport, died Dec. 20, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Shirley A. (Hausman) Bachman.

Born July 24, 1937, in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Payson Edward and Edna B. (Leisure) Bachman.

He was employed at the former Barry Hausman Roofing and Siding, Walnutport for 15 years before retiring in 2005.

Before that, he was a forklift operator at the former Keystone Lamp Factory, Slatington, for 35 years.

He was a member of Heidelberg Union Church, Heidelberg Township.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the former Blue Ridge Country Club, Palmerton.

His survivors include children Carl E. Bachman Jr. (Wendy) of Palmerton, Jeffrey L. Bachman (Karen) of Slatedale, and Tammie S. Mikolasy of Palmerton; sisters Doris Oertner of Slatington, and Arlene Dombrosky of Tamaqua; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
