WHS is offering an after-school tutoring program called CASH (Collaborative After School Help), previously called Homework Club, to provide academic support in subject areas, organization and study skills for any student with an IEP. These sessions are offered 3-4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in room D103.
All students with an IEP are eligible, and it is a great opportunity for students to catch up on work, complete homework, get extra help in subject areas, get help with organization and learn new techniques and study skills to help them get ready for tests.
Students may participate for one day, two days or all three days.

Consider signing up your child for Touchstone Theatre’s Building Bridges after-school program. The program uses theater and creative drama to facilitate cultural competency, self-awareness and communication with students. By the end of the program, students will have created, with guidance from Touchstone Theatre’s teaching artists, an original performance to share with classmates, teachers, counselors and family.
Student impact throughout this program includes more effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills, increased self-control, improved critical-thinking skills, enriched problem-solving and decision-making skills, increased self-esteem and a stronger sense of group/community.
Registration is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the Zephyr Buzz newsletter for information on how to register.

Gockley Elementary School students need a change of clothes to be kept at school. Please keep a seasonally appropriate full change of clothes in your child’s backpack for use in case of spills or accidents. The school keeps a limited supply of clothes in the health room and may not have enough if the situation arises.

WCSD’s trip policy says educational trips are limited to seven school days per year. Any days missed for travel beyond the seven days of absence will be illegal days if the student is 16 or younger.
The family educational trip request form, available in the school office, must be submitted prior to departure.
WCSD prefers all trips be scheduled during the holiday break.
