John Scott Ferryman

John Scott “Jack” Ferryman, 71, of Allentown, died Dec. 11, 2023, at home.

Born Sept. 21, 1952, in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Patrick K. Ferryman and Virginia (Wood) Ferryman McClure, and stepson of Richard McClure of Federal Way, Wash.

A 1970 graduate of Marian High School, he was a tow-truck driver and collision estimator for Supreme Autobody for more than 40 years.

He was a member of the Pennsylvania Towing Association for which he served as treasurer for over 20 years.

When not working, he could be found watching Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, attending boxing matches or just enjoying a good cigar.

He was also a bit of a bibliophile.

An outdoor man, he loved camping at Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

He made occasional appearances in front of the camera on the TV series “Forensic Files.”

He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

His survivors include sons Sean Ferryman of Palmerton and Todd M. Ferryman of Whitehall; stepdaughter Jennifer Loch of Allentown; grandson Kyle Ferryman of Jim Thorpe; companion Debra Browning; brother Patrick Ferryman of New England Valley; and several nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Ferryman, and a brother, Todd G. Ferryman.
