Liberty has passed all their tests so far on the season, but their toughest exams will come this week.
The Hurricanes remain undefeated at 6-0, but will have their undefeated mark challenged with games against Emmaus (7-1) and Pocono Mountain West (4-2) on Tuesday and Friday respectively.
It’s the type of week that the Hurricanes can see where they stand against two of the top programs in the area, especially with the Green Hornets being the only team above Liberty in the District 11 6A power ratings.
“Both Emmaus and Pocono Mountain West are two of the premier programs in our league year in and out,” said head coach Nigel Long. “Both teams are extremely well coached and have talented rosters. We’re excited to see how we fare against both teams.”
Emmaus has been on a tear this season, as they’ve won all their games by double digits this season outside of their lone 63-58 loss to Abington heights.
It’s the premier game in the East Penn Conference so far in this early season and Long knows his team will need to play their best if they want to come away with the win.
“They keys to beating Emmaus start with defensive transition,” Long said. “Rebounding the ball defensively and valuing the ball offensively and sharing the ball too.”
