Santa visits local pets

The Owl Cove hair salon on East Broad Street co-hosted a pet photo open house with Santa and Mrs. Claus Nov. 25, joining with nonprofit Feline Good Cat Rescue to raise awareness and support for the volunteer-driven organization. Feline Good volunteer Loni Weller commended The Owl Cove owners Diana Fenstermacher and Gwendolyn Jones for their interest and support. “They’ve hosted other events,” said Weller, who brought her own pair of Persian mix felines for photos. Feline Good Cat Rescue was established earlier this year with a focus on the healthy well-being of cats. “We’re building a following in the community,” said Weller, who reported that a Great Dane, a chinchilla, a bearded dragon and two potbelly pigs were among family pets having their photos taken with the Clauses. Feline Good, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit and is funded with contributions from the public. Anyone interested in more information or making a contribution can contact the organization at
