The Salisbury wrestling team opened the season with a 35-28 win over Northwestern last Friday night at Salisbury High School.
Three straight pins and a technical fall in the middle weights earned the Falcons 23 of their points. Colby Townly (145), Jordan Tocci-Wachter (152) and Nathaniel Tone (160) pinned their Tiger opponents in the match, while Michael Segata (139) won by technical fall.
Colton Tone (172) and Sam Krauss (285) won their matches by forfeit. Jake Watson’s major decision loss to defending district champ Luke Fugazotto (189) might not have earned the Falcons points, but it limited the Tigers to one bonus point in a match they likely hoped for more.
The Falcons have a nonleague match with Springfield Township early this week before getting back into Colonial League matches Wednesday when they travel to Palisades.
