SHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My family consists of my dad (Rudy), mom (Susan), two brothers (Peter and Patrick) and my dog Sammy.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject currently would either be Introduction to Statistics or Honors Physics II. I enjoy being in both classes and both teachers are understanding for work.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received an award for high school soccer this year for “Hope” for motivating and reminding the team to never give up.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. In terms of sports, I am involved in soccer, rifle and tennis. I am also a secretary for Key Club, member of G.I.V.E., member of Environmental Awareness, jazz band bassist and soloist, No Place For Hate, Student Advisory for the Class of 2024 (and one of the top sellers) and National Honor Society.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to go to college, most likely to Lehigh University in order to eventually reach the profession of an endocrinologist. If that doesn’t work, I’d like to go into chemistry or biology.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge at the moment is either my college class (Intro to Psychology) or Honors Physics II. They are difficult classes but I enjoy both of them greatly.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for the volunteer work I have done in Key Club and National Honor Society and also for the people I help when I reach any medical profession.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my brothers for setting a standard for me to follow. Without them, I do not think I would have the perseverance or willpower to get me to where I am today. I admire my friends and some of my peers for also pushing me to be the best I can be as well.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. If there was any advice I’d have to give to my peers, it would be to focus on yourself first before you start to help others. Focus on work, even if it may be hard now, it will likely be helpful in the future if you do well now.
