EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. Don (dad), Heather (mom), Grace (sister) and Norman (my dog).

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject in school has always been math. I feel that math challenges me in ways other subjects do not.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society. I have received the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout my career at EHS as well as received the Excellence in Chemistry Award. I have been fortunate to receive several athletic awards during my career with the Emmaus soccer program. Those awards include: Most Outstanding Freshman, Players Player and All EPC first team goal keeper.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I have played soccer and baseball throughout high school. Being a member of these teams has taught me how to better balance my time between academics and athletics. Thanks to athletics I have been crafted into a leader on and off the field and have learned what it takes to make a real “team.”

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date was overcoming my snowboarding injury in seventh grade. Although academics have been rigorous, nothing has prompted me to push through adversity like having to recover from a life-threatening injury.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to find success in the classroom and on the field at Thomas Jefferson University. I’m continuing my baseball career and look to develop into the best player I can be.

Q. Whom do you hope to emulate? Why?

A. I hope to emulate my mom. She is one of the hardest workers I know and has helped raise me into the man I am today. If I could copy one trait from her it would be her motivation; she doesn’t stop working until there’s absolutely nothing left to be done.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I’d like to be remembered as a kind friend to all. Everyday, I strive to leave a positive impact on as many people’s days as I can. Whether it be a simple smile across the hall, or a genuine conversation, I always enjoy seeing others smile back.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice is to search for new challenges. Every time I’ve conquered the challenges I’ve made for myself, I look back and I ask myself if it was worth it. The answer is yes! If you decide that you won’t give up along your journey, there’s no outcome that shouldn’t be celebrated.
