In the East Penn School Board story in the Dec. 6 edition of The Press, the board announced Shonta Ford was the first Black woman to serve on the East Penn School Board. A reader called to correct that statement, saying Valerie Collins Thomas was the first Black women to serve on the board in 2006, announcing her resignation in 2007 to move to Texas. The Press apologizes for the error.
