Whitehall’s boys swim team swept the all-important relay events to defeat Southern Lehigh, 89-81, on Dec. 9 at Whitehall.
Gabe O’Brien, Alex Madden, Andrew Deutsch, and Jonathan Stinner combined to win the 200 medley relay in 1:55.05; Ian Thomas, Madden, Deutsch, and Aaron Stinner won the 200 free relay in 1:36.43; and Aaron Stinner, Jonathan Stinner, O’Brien, and Thomas clinched the 400 free relay in 3:43.68.
Winners of individual events were Aaron Stinner in the 200 freestyle in 1:51.41 and the 500 free in 5:04.45, Thomas in the 200 IM in 2:08.46 and the 100 butterfly in 57.37, and Madden in the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.11.
Deutsch just missed first place in the 50 free with a time of 24.91 to Aaron Lyon’s time of 24.90 for Solehi.
Whitehall’s Kyra Giedl also had a close finish in the girls 50 free, placing second in 28.98 to Solehi’s Elizabeth Vezenov whose time was 28.54.
Greta O’Brien, Sofie Garbarino, Serenity Pauley, and Viviana Ferreira combined to earn second-place points in the 200 free relay with a time of 2:18.94.
Southern Lehigh’s girls defeated Whitehall, 130-40.
The Zephyrs will host Parkland in their next swim meet, scheduled for Dec. 19.
