The Salisbury Township School District reorganization meeting was held Dec. 6.
Newly elected board member Joseph Gaither was sworn into office as well as incumbent members Sarah Nemitz, Thomas Spinner and Carol Klinger.
The board formally accepted the resignation of former board member Joseph Kuzo for the remaining two years of his term as director. The board had previously posted the vacancy which yielded only one applicant - Ian Riccaboni.
Riccaboni attended the meeting virtually and the board voted unanimously to approve him to fill the vacant seat. He will be sworn in at a later date.
Leadership roles among the board remained the same as Christopher Freas was elected to serve as board president, Joseph Gnall will continue to serve as vice president and Laura McKelvey will maintain her seat as board treasurer.
The board approved committee meeting dates for the coming year noting the operations and finance committee meetings will be combined.
Also approved were the regular school board meeting dates for 2024.
The board also voted to retain outgoing board member Samuel DeFrank to continue to serve as a representative for Salisbury Township School District on the Lehigh Carbon Community College Board of Trustees through June 30, 2024.
Upcoming meetings for the Salisbury Township school board include the operations/finance committee meeting which will be held 7 p.m. Jan. 17, 2024 and the curriculum and technology meeting followed by the regular school board meeting 7 p.m. Jan. 24, 2024.
All meetings are held at the administration building, 1140 Salisbury Road, Allentown.
