William C. Wise, 86, of Northampton, died Dec. 7, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Diane R. (Hafer) Wise for 53 years.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Verdi V. and Dorothy (Marsh) Wise.

He served his country as a PFC in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1955 to 1958.

He was an Allentown firefighter for 25 years until he retired Jan. 4, 1992.

He was a member of Liberty Fire Company, Allentown, and Raccoon Club and Lappawinzo Rod and Gun Club, both of Northampton.

He is survived by three daughters, Billie Jo and husband Gregory Pochatko, Cherie L. and husband Eric Beers and Dina L. and husband Kendall Galusha, all of Northampton; a son, Thomas R. Nagy of Catasauqua; four brothers, Terry V. and wife Julianne of Northampton, Barry and wife Brenda of Allentown, Raymond and wife Linda of Hallem and Edward and wife Daisy of Santa Clarita, Calif.; two sisters, Jean and husband Gary Mohr of Emerald and Sandra Rivera of Bethlehem; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons, Terry M. Wise and Scott A. Nagy; two grandsons, Dakota Galusha and Jason Gruver; three brothers, Donald, Delbert and Floyd; and three sisters, Gloria, Shirley and Joyce.

A graveside service with firefighter honors will be held 11:30 a.m. Dec. 23 at Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Ave., Allentown.
