Sammie J. Trumbore, of Emmaus, died Dec. 1, 2023, just eight days before her 90th birthday. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Trumbore.

Born in Altus, Okla., she was the daughter of the late William and Faye Barnhill.

After high school graduation, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Texas and for Pacific Telephone in California before moving with her husband to Pennsylvania.

While raising her own children, she also provided child care for many, many others. She never lost her Texas accent or her sense of humor, even during difficult times.

She enjoyed playing the piano and singing especially gospel music. She was respected for her steadfast Christian faith and her devotion to her children.

She is survived by sons, Stephen and David; daughters, Ramona Neidig and her husband, Jeff, Sharon Martinez, Aimee; grandchildren, Caleb, Seth and Elizabeth Martinez, James Neidig, Andrew.
