Jean I. Newhard, 95, formerly of Coplay, died Dec. 10, 2023, at DevonHouse Senior Living, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Curtis F. Newhard.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond S. and Deborah V. (Meyer) Ringer.

She assisted her late husband in the ownership and operation of their family farm, New- hard Farms, North Whitehall, from 1956 to 1992.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Mickleys, where she served as the former superintendent and teacher of the Sunday school and was on the consistory and in the choir.

She also was the former treasurer of St. John’s Union Cemetery Association for many years.

She is survived by three children, Donald C. with Karen of Coplay, Dennis G. with Ruth of St. Michaels, Md., and Deborah J. Whitaker of Coplay; a sister, Arlene D. Remaley of Allentown; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

There will be a calling time 9:30-10:50 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service, both Dec. 16 at the church, 2918 MacArthur Road, Whitehall.
