Samuel Joseph Hoanzl Jr., 94, of Walnutport and previously of Coplay, died Nov. 22, 2023. He was the husband of Faye (Roberts) Hoanzl for 67 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Samuel J. Sr. and Julia (Perl) Hoanzl.

He was a 1948 Coplay High School graduate. He earned a degree in physics from Muhlenberg College.

He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a section chief at Western Electric and AT&T, Allentown, until he retired in 1985 after 37 years. He was the owner and CEO of Mantissa Computer Systems/Phasecom Electric Instrument Company, Bethlehem. He and his wife were co-owners of Bridals by Faye, Whitehall, for 33 years.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David and wife Genni of Conway, Ark.; a daughter, Lori Holota and husband David of Walnutport; four grandchildren, Benjamin Samuel and Casey Lynn of Conway, Ark., and Jessica L. and husband Dr. Matthew Klitsch and Ryan D. Holota of Walnutport; and a great-grandson, Jackson William Klitsch.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Hilda Dulick and Elsie Hoenl.

Services are private.
