Egypt Memorial Park’s annual Christmas party is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8 at the park, 4548 Main St. The event will include Santa’s arrival on a firetruck, games, crafts and prizes. Pizza and snacks will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring a dessert.

All park members are welcome. Nonmembers can register for membership before or on the day of the party. There is a cost to become a member.

Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, will be hosting concerts featuring Uncle Smiley Band 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and the Stage Devils 7 p.m. Dec. 23. Members attend free, but there is a cost for guests and nonmembers.

In other VFW news, Santa will visit the Post 1 p.m. Dec. 17. Each child who attends will receive a gift.

Members must register their children - no grandchildren - ages 1-10 by Dec. 10.

Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Cementon, is planning to hold a Christmas party 1-3 p.m. Dec. 16 for members of the club and their children under 10.

Also, breakfast with Santa is scheduled for 8-11:30 a.m. Dec. 17. Enjoy a delicious breakfast and have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Every child will receive a treat from Santa.

It’s almost time for Whitehall Fire Department Station 39’s Operation Santa! Santa will depart Egypt Fire Station noon Dec. 17 to deliver presents to children in Egypt and Cementon.

Parents/guardians of children residing in Egypt and Cementon may drop off wrapped and labeled gifts with the child’s name and address at the station, 4098 Kuhn Lane.

Drop-off times are noon-3 p.m. Dec. 9 and 6-9 p.m. Dec. 11.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will offer a Sunday worship service 9 a.m. and Christmas Eve services 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 24. The service will be posted on the church Facebook page and website 10 p.m.

In addition, there will be a service of lessons and carols 9 a.m. Dec. 31.
