Coplay: Coplay Sports, borough collecting items for Toys for Tots

Coplay Sports is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. Donations will be accepted 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8 and 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 19 at the field house, Sixth and Maple streets.

Coplay Borough also has a Toys for Tots drop-off site for new and unwrapped toys. It is open 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

Coplay Sports’ annual Christmas parade is set for Dec. 10.

The gift drop-off is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the field house. Write the name and phone number on the gift.

Rain dates include Dec. 16 or 17.

There will be a holiday craft market, planned for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 10, at the Coplay Fire Department social hall, 165 Cherry St. Purchase holiday crafts for family and friends.

Explorer Post 101 is offering its annual holiday model railroad display featuring a large operating HO-scale layout at Coplay Borough hall.

The display is open noon-4 p.m. Dec. 16, 17 and 23 and Jan. 6-7, 2024, and 7-9 p.m. Dec. 14, 21 and 28 and Jan. 4, 2024.

Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Explorer Post 101’s mission is to promote interest in the hobby of model railroading to 12- to 21-year-olds. Meetings are 7-9 p.m. Thursdays on the second floor of the municipal building.

Milk and cookies with Santa will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St. The event is hosted by the church’s Altar and Rosary Society.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is planning a chicken potpie pickup dinner for Jan. 13, 2024. The drive-thru pickup time frame is 4-5:30 p.m.

The menu includes chicken potpie, creamed cabbage or applesauce, roll and dessert.

Preorders are required. The deadline to order is Jan. 5, 2024.

St. Peter’s is planning to hold its second annual Rock Out Mardi Gras celebration Jan. 27, 2024. The celebration will start 5 p.m.

The BYOB event will include a New Orleans- inspired menu, beads, masks and prizes, and there will be music until 10 p.m.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Coplay Athletic Club is seeking new and renewal memberships. A gym membership costs $90 per year and $80 for renewals and can be prorated.

The gym is located on the second floor of borough hall.
