Motorcyclist fatally injured in two-vehicle crash Nov. 23

A Bethlehem motorcyclist was fatally injured in a crash Nov. 23 at the intersection of East Emmaus Avenue and Gaskill Avenue, Salisbury Township, according to authorities.

In a news release dated Nov. 24 from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center, Luis Enrique Rivera Ocasio, 20, was identified as the motorist who was fatally injured.

Ocasio was pronounced dead 1:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in the emergency department of St. Luke’s University Hospital.

Ocasio was transported to the hospital by St. Luke’s EMS, according to a news release from the Salisbury Township Police Department dated Nov. 23.

Medical officials determined the cause of the death to be multiple blunt force injuries due to a collision of a motorcycle and a motor vehicle. The manner of death was found to be an accident.

According to Salisbury police, the accident happened 12:43 p.m. on East Emmaus Avenue at the intersection with Gaskill Avenue. Multiple witnesses helped at the scene, according to police.

Eastern Salisbury Township Fire Department and Salisbury Township Fire Police also responded to the crash.

Ocasio was treated at the crash scene before he was taken to the hospital, according to Salisbury police.

Investigating agencies also include the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
