Ronald E. Montz, 83, of Old Zionsville, died Nov. 11, 2023. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. (Meckes) Montz for 47 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick and Anna (Ott) Montz.
He was a 1959 graduate of Emmaus High School, where he excelled in sports, especially baseball and wrestling.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was an entrepreneur, owner and operator of Hilltop Service Station and later became a real estate broker for RE/MAX, retiring in 2016.
He coached many Upper Milford Youth Association baseball and softball teams.
He was a life member of Zion’s Evangelical Church and was a past president of the East Penn School Board and was a member of numerous clubs and organizations in the Lehigh Valley.
He was a member of the Lehigh Lodge No. 326 Free and Accepted Masons, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Rajah Shrine.
He was an avid Philly sports fan, especially of the Phillies and Eagles.
He was a bike enthusiast and enjoyed riding with his daughter, Wendi, Lois and other friends.
He is survived by daughters, Wendi Russiano and her husband, Craig, Gwen Gerhart and her husband, John; grandsons, Nathan Russiano and his partner, Jess, Hunter Russiano and his wife, Jen, Cody Gerhart and his wife, Stephanie, Brody Reidmiller; great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert.
