Robert W. Minnix, 78, of Macungie, died Nov. 17, 2023, in his home. He was the husband of the late Donna E. Minnix who died in 2020. Born in London, Ky., he was a son of the late Warren and Pauline (Hammack) Minnix.

He was a graduate of the University of Maryland where he received a degree in economics and was a member of the football team.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a life insurance agent for New York Life from 1972 until the present.

He was a model train and automobile enthusiast, especially his cherished Corvette.

He was a musician, playing with Clockwork and Variations.

He was a recreational pilot and a Free & Accepted Mason.

He was an avid Phillies and University of Maryland sports fan. He and his wife traveled around the world. He enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams and especially supporting and watching his children’s and grandchildren’s games.

He is survived by sons, Douglas W. and his wife, Julie K., of Macungie, Todd and his wife, Yvette, of Tempe, Ariz.; grandchildren, Owen, Mason, Divo.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Friends and family may call 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the funeral home.
