Janet E. Moyer, 86, of Allentown, died Nov. 16, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Marvin R. Moyer with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Hilda T. (Sickar) Miller.

She graduated from William Allen High School and earned a degree in early childhood education. She had special training in the Montessori method of Education. She owned and operated Discovery Preschool in Emmaus, a very well respected preschool with a private kindergarten which was certified by the state of Pennsylvania. She and her husband owned and operated Discovery Preschool for over 35 years. She was a member of Childcare Providers in Lehigh County.

She and her husband spent much time with their family traveling extensively and loved to see different parts of the world. She enjoyed an evening glass of merlot while watching the sunset. You could even find her with a spritzer watching her favorite show “Blue Bloods.”

She is survived by daughters, Lynda L., of Bethlehem, Cynthia Gellis and her husband, Stephen, of Macungie; grandchildren, Stephen Gellis II and his wife, Brenda, Jason Gellis and his wife, Jessica, Amanda Gellis; five great-grandchildren; brother, Robert I. Miller and his wife, Fran; sister, Sharon Kratzer and her husband, Richard. She was predeceased by a grandson, Michael A. Giannelli.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The American Cancer Society.

A memorial service will be held noon Nov. 29 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to noon Nov. 29.
