Fullerton: Pick up your poinsettias at St. Elizabeth’s

The youth group of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., sold single-bloom poinsettias this year. They will arrive in time as a perfect gift for a neighbor or a co-worker.

If you made a purchase, flowers can be picked up 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 8 at the parish office or 8:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 10 at the parish hall. Orders can also be sent home with a student.

Children ages 3 and younger eat for free.

St. Elizabeth’s will be having its annual volunteer appreciation dinner 6 p.m. Dec. 10 in the parish hall. The church invites all volunteers to attend the dinner. Volunteers include those who volunteer at school; annual events such as the parish social, basket social or VBS; and those who continually give of their time to the parish. Families are welcome.

Recently, Cub Scout and Boy Scout Troop 32, along with their leaders, conducted a food drive in Whitehall. They collected and donated more than 200 pounds of food to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church for its Thanksgiving baskets, along with 1,105 pounds of food for Whitehall Food Pantry. The Scouts, leaders and parents helped to weigh the food, checked dates for expired foods, sorted food by categories and stocked the shelves.

Thanks go out to these Scouts for making a difference for the residents of Whitehall.
