Catasauqua: Biery House holiday shoppe open

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association is hosting the Biery House holiday shoppe in the historic site, 8 Race St. The shoppe will be open 4-8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays and noon-4 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 17.

Items and unique gifts from more than 45 crafters will be on display in the mule barn, summer kitchen and six rooms in the Biery House, all beautifully decorated in a Victorian theme.

Parking is located off Union Street in the Deily Coal Yard. From Race Street, turn onto Front Street and left on Union Street. From Pine Street, turn right on Front Street and right on Union Street.

HCPA is also looking for donations of baked goods. Email historiccatasauqua@gmail.com if you would like to contribute items for the bake sale.

The borough will hold its annual tree lighting 3-6 p.m. Dec. 3 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St.

There will be many vendors and crafts. The Innovative Arts Academy Charter School dance team and Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church bell choir will perform.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive 5 p.m., followed by the lighting of the tree.

There will be something for everyone, so come out and enjoy the festive activities.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., is holding a half-price sale on all clothing Dec. 4-16.

The thrift shop’s hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Shop volunteers are happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing and household items and toys during store hours. Proceeds from the shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Santa’s mailbox is back at the municipal complex, 90 Bridge St. Letters to Santa will be accepted through Dec. 20 to make sure Santa has time respond to them all.

Include your child’s full name and address to receive a response from Santa.
