Richard C. Brown

Richard C. Brown, 78, of Emmaus, died peacefully surrounded by his entire family Nov. 12, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Vincenzia (Frisoli) Brown for 56 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Robert T. and Eleanor V. (Apple) Brown.

He worked in management for Bethlehem Steel for 35 years and then at the age of 60 graduated as a registered nurse from St. Luke’s School of Nursing. He worked as an RN for Lehigh Valley Health Network for 18 years and was loved by all who knew him.

He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus, served on the board of directors of The 1803 House, enjoyed singing in the choir, playing with his dogs and collecting hats. But above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; son, Gregory and his wife, Katherine, of Macungie; daughter, Laura and her husband, Louis Evangelista, of Collingswood, N.J.; daughter-in-law, Jennifer, of Gilbert, Ariz.; grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mason, Holden, Lacey, Dylan, Emmah and Rocco. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Richard; a brother, Robert.

A memorial visitation will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 27 in the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus, A Celebration of Life will follow at Yergey Brewing, 235 Main St., Emsmaus.
