The Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners met Nov. 2 and said the 2024 budget is near completion and almost ready to be advertised. Further information about the budget was to be available during the Nov. 16 commissioners meeting.
Township Manager Bruce Beitel said he made an incorrect statement at the last meeting regarding the earned income tax for land preservation. The 50% used for purchasing was not accurate; it should be 25%.
A resident expressed his concerns over the closing of a bridge near Hills at Lockridge. This closure will affect an entrance to the development. There were four entrances/exits to this development and now only two. The bridge has been damaged beyond repair and will be closed.
A resident expressed his concern over a stormwater basin in his development. The basin was part of the deed. This occurred 17 years ago. Additional investigation will occur. The issues include ownership and maintenance.
