STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: Carlos Armani Sepulveda is in Grade 5 at Donegan ES. Carlos is a leader and a kind friend. In Grade 3, he took the role of making the morning announcements, and has been part of welcoming our community to school every morning since. Carlos has earned the title of Grand Champion in First in Math for the past two years. He presents at student-led assemblies and dresses as the Donegan Star at community events.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Jack Wenner teaches Social Studies at Northeast MS. Mr. Wenner is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who is always looking out for his students. He maintains consistent and open communication with his team of teachers and parents. He always provides a welcoming and supportive environment for his team every single day. He is a vital member of the Northeast MS family.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Julie Carraghan graduated from Freedom HS in 2004. Julie is currently the legislative director and executive director for State Sen. Nick Miller.

THANKSGIVING WEEK EARLY DISMISSALS AND CLOSURES: BASD Students will have early dismissals Monday, Nov. 20, and Tuesday, Nov. 21. All BASD schools will be closed from Wednesday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Nov. 27. Childcare will be open Nov. 22 and 27, closed Nov. 23 and 24.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION: On the second Saturday of each month, from 10 a.m. to noon, there will be a drive-through food distribution at Northeast MS, 1170 Fernwood St. The distribution is open to families of BASD students.

LIBERTY THEATRE PRESENTS RADIUM GIRLS: The Liberty HS Theatre will present the play about the young women who painted luminous dial watches in the 1920s, until the workers began to fall ill with radium sickness, and their fight for justice.
