LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Phyllis L. Allbright

Phyllis L. Allbright from Kempton, died Nov. 7, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital.

She was 29 days shy of celebrating her 80th birthday.

She and her husband, Gerald G. Allbright would have celebrated 59 years of marriage next month.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Willie Mae (Cooper) Huntley.

She loved the Lord, and spent most of her time serving Him.

Early on when the family lived in Nevada, she taught at a Christian preschool.

After they moved to Kempton, she taught Sunday School for her church, where she was the children’s director and was in charge of VBS for many years.

She would always say even if only one child showed up, she was going to make sure they knew Jesus!

She would do this through her lessons, the many crafts she would prepare, and lots of love and hugs.

Later in her life, she cherished the time with her “breakfast ladies” when they gathered Tuesday mornings, sharing life and prayers with one another.

She loved her family fiercely, and was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, “Grammy.”

She loved to make crafts, and making bracelets was her latest love.

She had a huge green thumb, and her southern cooking will be something all will miss.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Rene (Bernie) Keeney of Ostrander, Ohio, Lisa Allbright of Colorado, and Cindy (Mark) Fick of Oley; siblings Charles Huntley and Charlotte (Bob) Lewis, all of Southhaven, Miss.; grandchildren Jared Keeney (Lindsay Holaday), Nicholas Keeney, Ilyana (Thomas) Zahler and Emily Fick.
