Richard William Kropf, 72, of Northampton, died Nov. 5, 2023, at his home, after battling cancer. He was the husband of Kathleen Kropf for 49 years.

He was a son of the late Charles and Louise (Trankley) Kropf of Coplay.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. He received a 50-year pioneer pin and medal from the Penn State Alumni Association earlier this year.

He was a marketing representative and manager at Blue Cross of the Lehigh Valley for more than 35 years.

He belonged to several local social clubs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Victoria of Northampton; a son, Eric and wife Patricia of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Suzanne Buffington and husband Michael of North Catasauqua; three grandsons, Wesley, Charles and Luke; and two sisters-in-law, Bethany of Rowlett, Texas, and Judy of Coplay.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Jack.
