Catasauqua: Morning Glories to meet Nov. 20 at Holy Trinity Lutheran

The Morning Glories at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will next meet 10 a.m. Nov. 20. The speaker will be from the YMCA’s warming station.

Collections for the month include laundry detergent (pods only), dry coffee creamer, hot cups with lids, travel-size toothpaste and men’s and women’s socks.

Bring completed Holiday Hope Chest shoe boxes to the meeting.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will be offering its monthly free community lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 20.

Come on out for some great food and camaraderie.

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., West Catasauqua, will hold bingo Nov. 26. The cash bingo start time is 1 p.m., with doors opening noon.

Bingo will continue with a tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc. There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a nonperishable food item for Whitehall Food Pantry.

Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association is hosting the Biery House holiday shoppe in the historic site, 8 Race St. The shoppe will be open weekends from Nov. 25 to Dec. 17.

Hours are 4-8 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-noon Saturdays and from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Featured will be unique gifts from more than 45 artists and crafters. Items will be on display in the mule barn, summer kitchen and six rooms in the Biery House, all beautifully decorated in a Victorian theme.

Parking is located off Union Street in the Deily Coal Yard. From Race Street, turn onto Front Street and left on Union Street. From Pine Street, turn right on Front Street and right on Union Street.

Join the George Taylor House for a step back in time to traditional 18th-century holiday celebrations for the Twelfth Night tours, set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 6, 2024.

Our living history volunteers will guide you through the mansion, located at Lehigh and Poplar streets, and show you how the holidays were celebrated in the 18th century. You will be surrounded by aromas of the past with a historical cooking demonstration.

Learn how colonial America liked to prepare for and party on the Epiphany.

There is a cost, which benefits house preservation.
