Salisbury High School Theatre presents ‘Hay Fever 1965’
Salisbury High School Theatre is ready with its fall production of “Hay Fever 1965,” a comic play originally written by Noël Coward in 1924. The play was adapted for this production by director Shannon Barry O’Grady.
“Hay Fever 1965” follows the wealthy and eccentric Bliss family, the father (a famous writer), the mother (a famous actress) and their children Sorel and Simon (navigating high society). What happens when they all invite guests to their country home for the same weekend without telling each other? Romance, drama and ridiculousness ensues, according to O’Grady.
The cast includes: Sorel Bliss played by Chloe Jarjous, Simon Bliss played by Anthony Jarjous, Clara played by Soledad Lauch, Amy played by Hanin Suleiman, Judith Bliss played by Mady Williams, David Bliss played by Michael McWhorter, Sandy Tyrell played by Jonah Bittner, Myra Arundel played by Faith Spellacy Thursday and Saturday and by Olivia Cudd Friday and Sunday, Richard Greatham played by Will Kocher, Jackie Coryton played by Cassandra Daw and Flower Power Dancers Rae Schnable, Beatrice Carag and Hope Spellacy.
Understudies include Hope Spellacy as Sorel/Simon/Clara/Swing, Rae Schnable as Jackie/Swing and Mason Milkovitz as Sandy.
Set design is by O’Grady and Chris West. Set execution is by West, assisted by Nathan Staack.
Lighting design is by West and Claire Nichols.
Stage management/board operators are Hailey Bender and Nichols.
Costume design is by O’Grady.
Hair and makeup is handled by Gabriella DeJesus and Janai Williams.
Original music is “Flower Power Gossip” by Andrew Mark Schaffer of ExPANDAble, Allentown.

The show will take place in the SHS auditorium 7 p.m. Nov. 9, Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 and 2 p.m. Nov. 12.
