Ernest S. Reed, 72, of Emmaus, died Aug. 10, 2023. He was the husband of Patricia “Trica” Reed for 52 years. Ernest, fondly known as Ernie, was born in Lykens and was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret Reed.

He was a graduate of Susquehanna High School and Marshall University with a double major in advertising and journalism. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

He began his advertising career with The Republican Newspaper, Springfield, Mass. and continued his successful career for over 40 years.

He continued to follow and watch Marshall football and the Eagles. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball and basketball, cooking, listening to music, boating and going to their Jersey shore home.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Diana; son-in-law, Chris; grandchildren, Alex, Marley.

A private memorial service was held Aug. 16 in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown. Arrangements were entrusted to the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
