Edwin Cortes, 16, of Allentown, died tragically Oct. 31, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Allentown, he was the beloved son of Tiffany L. Elchin and Michael Cortes.

He was an 11th grade student at Emmaus High School and a member of the lacrosse team.

He loved cars and enjoyed working on his own. He also enjoyed fishing and baseball.

He was full of life and a happy-go-lucky kid. He was very funny, strong-willed and had an extraordinary smile. He was loved by everyone, and he cherished his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother; father; stepfather, Edwin; siblings, Noah Marty, Eliza Marty, Delilah Marty, Edwin Marty, Leah and Michael; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Leticia; aunt, Shannon Cooke; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the funeral home to establish a scholarship fund in his name.

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. Nov. 12 at Faith Church, 6528 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown. Private interment in Northwood Cemetery, Emmaus. Arrangements are being made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
