Coplay Whitehall Sewer Authority held its monthly meeting Oct. 19 at the CWSA building.
Vice Chairman Paul Boyle said Lehigh County Authority will be attending the Nov. 16 meeting with a presentation on the status of the KISS (Klein Island Sewer System) project. The board was urged to prepare precise questions.
Invitations will be sent for this important meeting, and these individuals are urged to attend.
The initial goal of the KISS project is to determine what the high-level rate impact of wastewater investments will be for customers of each utility/municipality. The KISS consists of 933 miles of sewer pipe from 14 local municipal entities.
Detailed cost estimates, impact to intermunicipal agreements and development of an implementation schedule are to be determined at the current stage of the project.
Boyle also mentioned there will be a preliminary CWSA budget proposal distributed at the Nov. 16 meeting.
General Manager Matt Harleman announced work on the 2023 manhole to manhole lining project began the week of Oct. 16.
Boyle mentioned an email dated Oct. 3, from Jennifer Montaro to Harleman, regarding 2024 estimated city sewer charges.
At the September meeting, a board vote was taken to hire Ben Hudak for the maintenance position. The hire was approved.
Meetings are 7 p.m. the third Thursday of each month at 3213 MacArthur Road and are open to the public.
