Coplay: American Club schedules dance night

American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St., will hold a dance night Nov. 10, featuring the band Common Bond.

Doors open 5 p.m., and the band will play 7-10 p.m.

The kitchen will be open, and there will be a cash bar.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., will be holding a Thanksgiving filling sale. The deadline to order is Nov. 10.

Pickup will be 1-3:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 18.

The annual turkey raffle, sponsored by American Club of Coplay, will be held Nov. 12. Doors open noon, and raffles will be 1-5 p.m.

Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., is planning to hold a schnitzel dinner Nov. 18. Serving times will be 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Meals include a choice of pork or chicken schnitzel with or without mushroom sauce, spaetzle or mashed potatoes and more.

Proceeds benefit Saengerbund’s heritage committee.

The 57th annual community Thanksgiving service at St. John’s Lutheran Church will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 19. Meet parishioners from St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Redeemed Christian Church of God and more.

Flowers are provided by Coplay Garden Club.

A freewill offering will benefit Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association.

Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association is sponsoring the annual holiday tree-lighting ceremony 6 p.m. Nov. 30 outside borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

Tom Yurasits will perform his magic act inside the borough hall auditorium 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

Explorer Post 101’s mission is to promote interest in the hobby of model railroading to 12- to 21-year-olds.
