The Salisbury High School football team traveled to Schuylkill County for the second straight week, this time to take on one of Coal Region’s traditional powers in North Schuylkill.
The Spartans (7-2) ran for 417 yards in the game, led by senior Collin Stanakis, who carried the ball eight times for 162 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-0 win.
Seven different North Schuylkill ball carriers ran for 20 or more yards on the night as sophomore Caden Mengel’s 60 yards was second to Stanakis in the game.
North Schuylkill starting quarterback Trevor Minalda completed three of four passes with one going for a touchdown.
The Falcons (0-9) host Catasauqua Friday night in a game that’s slated to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
The Rough Riders are on a two-game winning streak after beating Palisades 42-7 last week and Panther Valley 55-6 the week before. They’re in fourth place in the District 11 Class 3A rankings and could seal a playoff spot with a win Friday night.
