Timothy J. Betz, 76, of Catasauqua, died Oct. 21, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg campus, Bethlehem.

He and his wife, Irene M. (Smith) Betz, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in April.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Edward and Anna (Sokasits) Betz.

A Vietnam veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Army.

Following his service to this country, he was a steelworker for Bethlehem Steel for many years.

He was a member of the American Club of Coplay and a lifetime member of the West Coplay Maennerchor.

He enjoyed bowling and fishing, but especially cherished the times with his family.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son Scott T. Betz of Catasauqua; daughters Michelle K. (Joby) Bauer of Catasauqua, and Erica I. (Michael) Brandi of Fogelsville; and grandchildren Elizabeth, Nicholas, Tyler and Jaxson.

He was predeceased by siblings Phyllis Suranofsky, and Edward Jr. and James Betz.

Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
