Thomas E. Fichter, 78, of Fullerton, died Oct. 15, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Miller) Fichter.
He was a 1963 Whitehall High School graduate.
He was in the U.S. Air Force during combat in Vietnam.
He was a 36-year biomedical electronic technician for Lehigh Valley Hospital until he retired.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, where he was an Eucharistic minister, sang in the church choir for more than 40 years, volunteered at parish festivals and was a greeter and usher at the 8 a.m. Masses.
He was a lifetime Macungie Minstrelaires performer and a board and various committee member. He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367 and the Knights of Columbus.
He volunteered at Peaceable Kingdom, Whitehall. He was a sergeant at large and a board member of Pleasure of Your Company Therapy Dogs. He took his dogs to Cedarbrook and Brandywine Community Library for their read to a therapy dog programs.
He is survived by five cousins, Kathryn Rindock of Breinigsville, Connie Lou Reichenbach of Easton, Ann Koefer of Whitehall, Philip Miller of Manassas, Va., and Alan Gagnon of Oklahoma City, Okla.
There will be a calling time starting 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., Nov. 4 at the church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, 18052.
